John C. Conover - Our Founder
John C. Conover steered the John C. Conover Agency for nearly 35 years. He founded the agency in 1906, in the budding seaside town of Allenhurst. He spurred his agency and the town to grow by selling executives from Manhattan on the benefits of purchasing property at the Jersey shore. As prospective buyers began arriving in droves, the agency quickly outgrew the space it shared with the town's post office. To accomodate his mushrooming business, Mr. Conover bought a building for the agency next to the train station, a building that remains an Allenhurst landmark today. Besides representing individual buyers, Mr. Conover also cultivated a client base of entreprenerial developers that were buying tracts of land to build homes in the towns that were expanding along the Jersey shore in the early 20th century. He died in 1940 and left the agency in the management of his wife.
John C. Conover, Jr. - A Leader in the Community
John C. Conover, Jr. joined his mother in the agency in 1946. Business quickly hit new levels of success as the post-war economy brought unprecedented growth to the real estate market. Like his father, John Jr. took a leadership role in both in the evolving shore community and the real estate community and was a founding member of the first Multiple Listing Service on the Jersey Shore. He guided the agency in all aspects of the real estate business for more than 50 years.John (Jack) C. Conover III - Continuing the Tradition of Success
John (Jack) C. Conover III joined the agency in 1973 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. Following his father and grandfather, Jack continued to find innovative ways to adapt the company to current times while preserving the agency's core values of honesty, integrity, experience and market knowledge. Jack has served as a director of the Monmouth County Board of Realtors since 1996 and as chairman of Multiple Listing Service since 2000. His civic involvements include working on the strategic planning board for the School in Brielle, serving as president of the Asbury Park Lions Club, and being an active member of his church.
